Consume Me
A love poem
Well, it’s actually a song, not just a poem. I figured, with Valentine’s day right around the corner (seriously, it’s in 2 weeks!) I’d share one of the few romantic things I’ve ever written.
At the end, I’ll even link the full song so you can listen to it!
Consume Me
Midnight nears, the moon is falling
Withered hearts of people calling
Death to those who draw too near
With silent screams for you to hear
I want to join you, want to save you
Take me to the grave with you
Drink, this is my blood. Eat, this is my body
Drink, this is my blood. Eat, this is my body
Hollow eyes of deep deception
Following without detection
You mourn the lives that others lost
But you crave the blood it costs
I want to join you, want to save you
Take me to the grave with you
Drink, this is my blood. Eat, this is my body
Drink, this is my blood. Eat, this is my body
I want to live inside you
[Won’t you let me]
I want to be a part of you
[I can make you happy]
Everything that you should see
[I can show you]
You will
[You will]
When you consume me
I want to join you, want to save you
Take me to the grave with you
Drink, this is my blood. Eat, this is my body
Drink, this is my blood. Eat, this is my body
Drink, this is my blood.
What do you think? If you spotted the fact that it’s very vampiric, congrats! I wrote it during my “obsessed with Queen of the Damned” phase.
As promised, here’s the full song in all it’s glory:
[I have to admit, my band was pretty cool…]
As always, feel free to share this post (it’s free).
Thanks for reading (and listening)!
